Modular Close Combat System

The Spearpoint Modular Close Combat System (MCCS) is a combat tool system that addresses a range of requirements and provides additional capabilities not currently available to the close combatant.

Modular Close Combat System

The MCCS system includes the following: Shovel, pick, mattock, tomahawk, hammer, knife, saw, punch, walking stick, flint, whistle, bottle opener, nail remover, wrench, compass and cord.

Made from high-carbon steel, the MCCS is both strong and light, with the basic kit weighing just 2245g. Thanks to the system’s interchangeable heads, at only 500g more than the stand-alone in-service entrenching tool, the MCCS can also be assembled as a mattock/pick, tomahawk or hammer. But wait, there’s more! Cleverly stowed inside the handle tubes are a combat knife with fish scaling tool, compass, whistle, flint, and a safety glass breaker. When not in use, the components are kept safe and secure inside a 250x190x100mm MOLLE pouch with handle.

For added versatility, the system can be expanded with optional extras including a trekking pole, fishing kit, ice pick, grappling hook, survival saw and additional extension tubes.
